Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear signed two emergency regulations to direct money from opioid lawsuit settlements into Kentucky communities — which now amounts to more than $842 million.
In a video posted to the governor’s social media page last week, Beshear said the money would be used to fight the opioid epidemic by “helping people heal, to support law enforcement and to ultimately defeat this epidemic that arose in our time and [we] should end it in our time.”
