EKY health organizations hold recovery festival

In Eastern Kentucky, two health organizations held a recovery festival to encourage individuals to support those in their community who are struggling with substance use disorder (SUD). The festival gave people who have never experienced SUD a chance to build community and support their neighbors. Read more here.

Substance abuse contributes to worker shortage

During the pandemic and the isolation that ensued, many individuals turned to substance use to cope with the rising mental and physical health issues. This increase in substance use disorder led to a decline in workforce participation between February 2020 and January 2022. Read more here.
