Volunteer Program Offers Support to Individuals Battling Addiction
Kentucky State Police teamed up with the state’s Office of Drug Control Policy and created the Angel Initiative in 2018. The program helps those who need support finding treatment. Read more here.
Naloxone Vending Machine Available at one Southern Indiana Hospital
Overdose Lifeline in partnership with the Indiana government has teamed up to address overdoses. The 24 hour vending machine, located at Clark Memorial Hospital and Jeffersonville, can carry 300 free Naloxone kits. Read more here.

Consumption of Alcohol has Increased Since the Start of the Pandemic
Researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) projected that 100 more Americans will die from increased alcohol consumption caused by the pandemic. MGH researchers also expect 2,300 Americans will experience liver failure by 2023. Read more here.

Kentucky Chamber Foundation helps those who are incarcerated prepare to return to society
In partnership with other agencies, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation is working to help incarcerated individuals obtain proper identification when released. In 2021, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation helped issue 340 state ID’s through the program. Read more here.

Landmark Opioid Trial finds a pharmaceutical company liable for their role in the opioid epidemic
In December 2021 a jury found the American division of Teva Pharmaceuticals liable for their contribution to the opioid epidemic. Their role included ignoring internal safeguards that would have prevented them from inundating the market with opiates and not properly advertising the risks related to opioids. Read more here.
