Northern Kentucky University received $1 million in federal funding to support its Rural Communities Opioid Response implementation. The program was created last year to reduce opioid overdose deaths for those who come in contact with law enforcement or are involved in the criminal justice system.
Kentucky saw a spike in overdose deaths in 2020, and this funding will be critical in combatting the addiction epidemic and helping more Kentuckians find long-term recovery.
