Kentucky sees spike in overdose deaths throughout 2020
Kentucky health officials are reporting overdose deaths at alarming rates. During 2020, nearly 2,000 Kentuckians died from drug overdoses. Advocates are working to reverse many negative factors that have contributed to the deaths including creating opportunities for employment, recovery, and access to education. Read more here.
Isolation during the pandemic has contributed to more overdose deaths
Throughout the pandemic, mandatory lockdowns contributed to growing isolation among those in the addiction and recovery space. Many Kentuckians found themselves relapsing in their treatment due to limited access of support groups and availability of treatment. Read more here.
